Bazemore, 24, joined the Lakers this February along with MarShon Brooks in the trade that sent Steve Blake to Golden State. The second-year guard out of Old Dominion has never averaged more than 10 minutes a game before joining the Lakers, but his athleticism, defensive abilities and shooting prowess are expected to make an impact in purple and gold. He averaged 15.4 points and 6.1 rebounds a game as a senior at Old Dominion.

A third-year guard out of Providence College, Brooks was part of the Steve Blake trade that also brought Kent Bazemore to Los Angeles. Just 25, the New Jersey native was compared to Kobe Bryant as a high schooler and averaged 24.6 points and seven rebounds a game as a senior in college. During his rookie year with the Nets in 2011-12, Brooks averaged career highs in points (12.6), rebounds (3.6) and assists (2.3).

Bryant

Known as the Black Mamba, the 2008 MVP is the team’s all-time leading scorer and one of the most decorated Lakers ever with five NBA titles, 15 All-Star game appearances and two Olympic Gold medals. Born in Philadelphia, he led his high school team to a state championship before going directly to the NBA where the Lakers acquired him in a draft-day trade in 1996. Bryant suffered a torn Achilles tendon in April of 2013.

Gasol

A two-time NBA champion with the Lakers, NBA Rookie of the Year and four time All-Star, Gasol hails from Barcelona. He was the third overall selection in the 2001 NBA draft and played the first 6 and a half seasons of his career with Memphis before being traded for his brother Marc. He is a two-time Olympic silver medalist. Was enrolled in medical school before his basketball career took off and he speaks five langauges.

Henry

Born in Belgium, where his father was a professional basketball player, the high-flying scorer grew up in Oklahoma where he won a high school state championship and was a McDonald’s All-American before attending Kansas University. He left after one season and was a first round selection, 12th overall, in the 2010 NBA draft. Signed with the Lakers in September of 2013 and scored a career-high 22 points in an opening game victory over the Clippers.

Farmar

A two-time world champion with the Lakers in 2009 and 2010, Farmar returned to the team this year after stints in New Jersey, Israel and Turkey. He is a Los Angeles native who starred in high school, scoring 54 points in a game, and then led UCLA to the national title game at the end of his sophomore season in 2006. He was drafted by the Lakers and has twice scored 24 points for them.

Hill

Born and raised in South Carolina, Hill was introduced to basketball by his cousin, Trevor Booker, of the Washington Wizards. Hill played three years at the University of Arizona where he was named all-conference before being selected eighth overall in the 2009 NBA draft. He was traded to the Lakers in March 2012. In his first NBA start against New Orleans, he led the Lakers with a career-high 21 points and also had 11 rebounds.

Johnson

The Corsicana, Texas product played two years at Iowa State before transferring to Syracuse where he was named Big East Player of the Year and first team AP All-American. He declared for the NBA draft and was the fourth overall pick in 2010. He played for Minnesota and Phoenix before signing with the Lakers in July 2013. Johnson has provided several high-light reel dunks and scored a season-high 16 points in a win over Houston.

Kaman

Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Kaman also holds German citizenship and played for Germany in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Kaman played at Central Michigan for three years and was the Mid-American Conference Player of the Year in 2003. He declared early for the 2003 NBA draft and was selected sixth. Kaman spent eight years with the LA Clippers and also had stops in New Orleans and Dallas before signing with the Lakers in July 2013.

Kelly

The lone rookie on the team, Kelly was a McDonald’s All-American in Raleigh, NC before attending Duke University where he was on the 2010 National Championship team. Known for his three-point shooting, he was drafted in the second round of the 2013 NBA draft by the Lakers and scored his first points on a three-pointer against Dallas on Nov. 5. Kelly is engaged to Lyndsay Cowher, the daughter of former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher.

Meeks led his high school team to a Georgia state championship, before enrolling at Kentucky. There he set the school’s single game records for points, 54, and three-pointers, 10, in a 90-72 win over Tennessee. A unanimous selection All-SEC his junior year, he declared for the NBA draft and was picked 41st overall. Meeks played for Milwaukee and Philadelphia before signing with the Lakers in 2012. Meeks scored 25 points against Memphis on Nov. 15.

Nash

Nash was a star player in Canada who was not heavily recruited before attending Santa Clara, where he led the Broncos to three NCAA tournaments and was twice the WCC Player of the Year. Drafted 15th by the Phoenix Suns, Nash became an All-Star in Dallas before returning to Phoenix where he was twice named NBA MVP. He signed with the Lakers in 2012 and became the fifth player in league history with 10,000 assists.

Sacre

The son of former LSU basketball player Leslie Sacre and NFL player Greg LaFleur, he was born in Louisiana and raised in Canada, where he holds dual citizenship. He was MVP of the British Columbia Provincial Championship his junior year before enrolling at Gonzaga. The Lakers selected him in the second round of the 2012 NBA draft. In his first career start in January of 2013, he had 10 points, four blocks and three rebounds.

Known as Swaggy P, Young is back in his native southern California after signing with the Lakers in 2013. A standout at Cleveland High School in Reseda, he enrolled at USC and was twice named first-team All-Pac Ten. Young declared for the 2007 NBA draft and was taken 16th overall by the Washington Wizards. He scored a career-high 43 points against Sacramento in 2011 before joining Philadelphia. He’s twice scored 21 points for the Lakers.
