James Worthy is back on the court for 'Conan State University'

Big Game James Worthy got back on the court … sort of.

The legendary Laker and Time Warner Cable SportsNet broadcaster took part in something called the “East San Fernando Valley Rented Gym Invitational” tournament.

Big Game was part of Conan O’Brien's tongue-in-cheek attempt to create a college, field a basketball team and enter the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.

Instead, Team Coco had to settle for a pretty bad beating by the Glendale Community College women’s basketball team.

The “99-16” score at the half could be due to the fact that Conan sat out the seven-time NBA all-star and three-time NBA champion in favor of S.H.O.O.T.Z. the Robot. You really can't blame Conan for being skeptical of Worthy's skills considering his tryout tape.

The video, which you can see above, has a lot of funny moments. But my favorite is when Big Game tells Conan he thinks the whole team will fit into his hatchback and they decide not to come out for the second half.

It was good seeing one of my favorite Lakeshow era Lakers back on the court, even if it was just as a sub for a poor shooting robot that used to be a sorbet machine.
