Dwight Howard has not suffered additional damage to his injured shoulder and has been cleared to play on Friday against Utah, the Lakers announced on Thursday.
Howard was examined in Los Angeles by shoulder specialist Dr. James Tibone on Thursday. Howard aggravated his shoulder injury in the second quarter of Wednesday's loss to the Grizzlies. He originally injured his shoulder on Jan. 4 against the Los Angeles Clippers and sat out three games.
