CARSON, Calif. – The 2012 MLS Cup Champion LA Galaxy today released their schedule for the 2013 MLS regular season. The Galaxy will begin their championship defense at The Home Depot Center on Sunday, March 3 when they host the Chicago Fire in a game that will kick off at 2 p.m. That will be the first of 34 games, 17 at home and 17 on the road that the club plays during the regular season. The Galaxy will play three games against each Western Conference opponent during the regular season while also facing each of their 10 Eastern Conference opponents once.
Of the Galaxy’s 34 regular season games, 17 will be shown on one of Major League Soccer’s national television partners, ESPN, NBC Sports and Univision. Six of those 17 matches will be shown on either ESPN or ESPN2 as well as in Spanish on ESPN Deportes. NBC Sports will also air six Galaxy games in 2013, with five games being shown on the NBC Sports Network while the club’s trip to Portland on Sunday, September 29 will be shown on NBC. Additionally, five games will be shown live nationally in Spanish on either Univision or UniMás (formerly TeleFutura), starting with the regular season opener against Chicago on March 3, which will be shown exclusively on Univision.
The Galaxy’s complete regular season schedule can be found below. The club’s local television broadcast schedules for Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes, as well as local English and Spanish language radio schedules, will be announced at a later date.
